Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the XpressTools brand hub located at xpresstools.dev.

Each individual XpressTools site has its own Privacy Policy that explains the specific processing model used by that site, including:

  • XpressDevTools
  • XpressImgTools
  • XpressLogViewer
  • XpressFileConverters

What this site does

The XpressTools hub is primarily a directory and informational site. It provides:

  • The landing page;
  • About information;
  • Terms of Service;
  • Privacy information; and
  • A Feedback form.

The hub itself does not process files, images, logs, or developer content .

When you click through to an individual tool site, you are leaving the hub and entering a separate website with its own privacy policy, terms, infrastructure, and data-handling model.

Feedback form

The Feedback button opens a contact form. When you click Send, the form is submitted cross-origin to a shared contact endpoint hosted on XpressDevTools , our sibling site where the feedback backend lives.

When you submit Feedback, we transmit:

  • Your name, email address, subject, and message — exactly as entered.
  • Your IP address, used for spam prevention, rate limiting, Cloudflare Turnstile validation, abuse detection, and optional country lookup.
  • A country code derived from your IP address, recorded on the resulting email to help prioritize responses and identify abuse patterns.

Feedback messages are delivered to a real inbox by email. We do not persist them in a database.

Feedback emails older than 90 days are deleted as part of standard operational hygiene. If you would like yours deleted sooner, submit another Feedback request asking for removal.

Server logs

Like most web services, the hub may record standard access logs for operational purposes.

These logs may include:

  • Timestamp;
  • Request path;
  • Status code;
  • Response size;
  • User-agent;
  • Referrer; and
  • Source IP address.

Access logs are retained for up to 14 days for abuse prevention, security monitoring, debugging, and service reliability, then rotated out.

Advertising

The XpressTools hub itself generally does not display advertising.

However, individual XpressTools sites may display ads, including Google AdSense or similar advertising systems. Those sites describe their advertising behavior in their own Privacy Policies.

You can manage advertising preferences via Google Ads Settings .

Analytics

We may use lightweight analytics to understand:

  • Which XpressTools sites are most popular;
  • Navigation patterns through the hub;
  • Site performance; and
  • General reliability and usability.

Analytics events are not intended to identify you personally and are not associated with Feedback content.

If analytics providers are used (such as Cloudflare Analytics, Google Analytics, Plausible, Umami, or similar services), those providers may process limited technical information according to their own privacy policies.

Cookies and local storage

The hub uses a limited number of cookies and browser storage mechanisms:

  • Theme preference — stored in localStorage and used to remember your dark/light mode choice.
  • Cookie consent — stored in localStorage and used to remember your consent preferences.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile — used only while the Feedback dialog is open to prevent spam and abuse.
  • Analytics identifiers — may be used where analytics are enabled and permitted.

Non-essential cookies are only loaded after consent where required by applicable law.

You can clear cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings or reset your consent choices via the cookie banner where available.

Third-party services

We may use third-party providers, including:

  • Cloudflare (TLS, edge services, Turnstile, security);
  • Google Fonts;
  • Font Awesome;
  • XpressDevTools for the shared Feedback endpoint; and
  • Hosting, analytics, infrastructure, or performance providers.

These providers may process limited technical information according to their own privacy policies and terms.

Legal basis for processing

Where applicable under GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar privacy laws, we process limited personal information on the following bases:

  • Legitimate interests — operating the site, preventing abuse, debugging issues, maintaining security, and improving reliability.
  • Consent — where you choose to submit Feedback or accept non-essential cookies.
  • Legal obligations — where processing is required to comply with applicable law or lawful requests.

International data transfers

Some third-party providers used by the hub may process limited technical information in countries outside your jurisdiction, including the United States.

These providers maintain their own privacy and transfer safeguards according to their own policies.

GDPR / UK GDPR / data subject rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, restrict, object to, delete, or request a copy of personal information associated with you.

In practice, the XpressTools hub stores very little identifying information:

  • No account system;
  • No user profiles; and
  • No personal database records tied to you.

If you submitted a Feedback message, you may request deletion of the resulting email at any time.

Server logs are short-lived and generally cannot be searched by name or email because they are not stored with that context.

Children's privacy

XpressTools is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally.

The current version will always be available at this URL and will include the updated effective date.
